Mason
Carroll has been involved in Pastor Taylor's
ministry at several churches over the years, beginning at the Kenly
Church of God as a 14 year old in Pastor Taylor's
youth ministry.
Mason served as a clown in the KIDSURGE
clown ministry team, traveling around the country with pastor Taylor
evangelizing youth & children all over the United States.
Mason followed Pastor
Taylor to the Selma church of God where he was strongly involved
in the youth, music, and children's ministry there, under the leadership
of Sarah Carroll, (then
Sarah Taylor).
Mason is a graduate University of Mount
Olive with a degree in music education.
Mason currently serves as music minister of
the Haven of Hope Church and has excellent
skills in leading worship and outlining a music program for the church.
Pastor Taylor, while having been a youth &
children's pastor and evangelist for 27 years, considers himself to be a
conservative, Pentecostal Pastor. Therefore he deems it necessary to
stay close to our roots, musically, and spiritually, but while all the
while not becoming stagnant in either.
Mason Carroll shares this ministry model,
and relates very closely to Pastor Taylor's
vision for a church music ministry.
If you attend a service at the Haven of Hope
Church, you will experience new "feels" of old hymns, as well as
good old, down home church style music, right alongside a few of the
most worshipful contemporary worship songs available.
As there are very few musicians in the church, the music dept employs
recordings of church music from some of the best Pentecostal Music
Ministers in the country. Music from the likes of
Simeon Amburgey, Tommy Bates,
Jared & Nick Fields,
Ryan Stroup, Ezra Bufford,
Sam Tolbert, Aaron
Hill, and many others, whom have recorded their church music and
allowed us to make music video trax for our worship services.
We also employ soundtrax from some of the best in southern gospel music
around. With music ranging from old-time church music, to revised church
hymns, and special music from the likes of The Gaither Vocal band, Jason
Crabb, Adam Crabb, the Crabb Family, Gordon Mote, Brian Haney, Fred
Hammond, Rev. F.C. Barnes, and a number of church hymns and specials
from Fruition Music group.
Pastor Taylor often picks up his guitar and
plays along with the trax as a means of worship and adoration to the
King!
No matter when you come to our services, you can be assured that the
musical worship will never go lacking, and often the Power of the Holy
Ghost moves mightily during our musical worship taking over the service
to do His will! |
